In
collecting all this data, generous help was provided by
a number of people.
First
of all by Elisabeth Hussey (Kandahar Sci Club), Ingrid Wicken (California Ski
Library,
Norco)
and Rune Flaaten (Holmenkolen
Ski Museum). Later, at various points in time
Carly Thomas (Canadian Ski Museum), Mike Leach (Mt. Mansfield Ski Club), John Allen
(New
England Ski Museum), and Alessandra Ravelli (CAI, Turin) helped to fill in
the
missing results.
In
completing the results from Winter Olympic Games, helping hands were given by
Brita Belsvik (Norwegian Olympic Museum, Oslo), Sandra Kosztka (Austrian Olympic
Committee),
Toshinaru Takehana
(Hokkaido University Reference Division, Sapporo),
Shirley Ito (Amateur Athletic Foundation, Los Angeles), and from L'Equipe de Maison
des Jeux, Albertville.
Missing
data from the World Championships were provided by the FIS ladies
- Sarah Lewis,
Sonja Reichen, Karin Gurtner, as
well as Marie-Jo Paillard (FFS), Martina Breitfuss
(Schladming
Ski World Cup office), Olle Rolen and Pernilla Hammar-Rognoy
(Åre 2007 AB), Anna Lookabill-Scott (Aspen Historical Society), and
Elsa Claret-Tournier
(ENSA Chamonix).
Considerable on-line material was also provided by several
ski clubs. For instance the
Kitzbuehel ski club has posted all the result sheets from the year
1955 onwards. Ski club
Maribor
have put on-line all the results for the Golden Fox (Zlata
Lisica) races. The same
was, also,
done by the ski club of Kranjska Gora for the Vitranc Cup, and by the Club des
Sports
of Val d’Isere for the Criterium
of the First Snow (Criterium de la Premiere Neige),
but in the
meantime, for some reason, they have withdrawn such material from the internet.
Copies
of results for several dozen major events can be also found
at the Canadian Ski
Museum
website. At the web site www.Sciatori di Epocca (run
by Marco Grassi) scores
of Italian
ski magazines, containing complete results of many major races, can be
downloaded.
